A World Heritage City. Kandy is situated 500 meters above sea level in the central hills of Sri Lanka. It is the capital of the Central Province. Some of the main attractions are the Temple of the Tooth Relic of the Buddha and the Kandy Esala Perehera, Peradeniya Botanical Gardens (9km), elephant bathing in Katugastota (14km), Udawattekele Royal Forest Sancturary (14km).



Royal Botanical Garden, Peradeniya is located in close proximity to the city of Kandy in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. It is renowned for a variety of Orchids and has more than 300 varieties of Orchids, spices, medicinal plants , palm trees.



Ambuluwawa Mountain in Gampola reaches a height of 1065 meters a bio diversity project.



Pinnawela is an elephant orphanage established by the Wild Life Department in 1975 for orphaned wild elephants in Sri Lanka. The land now housing the Pinnawela Orphanage belonged to Mrs. Padmini panabokke Molagoda before it was taken over by the Land Reform commission in 1972.


Gampola was the capital city of Sri Lanka in the 14th century.Some of the main attractions are the temples of Lankatilleke and Gadaladeniya and the Embekke Devalaya . Further North of Gampola Town lies the Kotmale hydroelectricity dam and the Pusulpitiya Temple.



The Knuckles Mountain Range covers parts of Kandy and Matale districts.Its name derived from the shape of a clenched fist, which forms a scenic wonderland.


    Nuwara Eliya is situated in the central hills of Sri Lanka at an altitude of 1990 meters (6128 feet) above sea level with a year round temperature of 16 °C. It is in close proximity to the highest mountain-Pidurutalagala. This is also the heart of the highland tea plantations.


The Hantane tea factory built in 1925 is now converted into the Tea Museum.
